PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Arizona Department of Education was awarded a three-year, $1.8 million grant for the Native American Dropout Prevention Initiative (NADPI) for 2006-2009.

The grant initiative resulted in a national dropout prevention model addressing the chronically low high school completion rates among American Indian students statewide.

NADPI funds were allocated toward the cost of implementing prescribed program elements and activities through partnership with the Whiteriver Unified School District and the San Carlos Unified School Districts.
