PRESIDENTIAL AWARDS
FOR EXCELLENCE
IN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE TEACHING
The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) is the nation's highest honor for teachers of mathematics and science. The Awards recognize exemplary K-12 teachers for their contributions in the classroom and to their profession. Excellent teachers perform miracles everyday with little or no recognition. The Presidential Awards demonstrate the value and appreciation the nation has for the teaching profession. Nominate an outstanding math or science teacher today for this prestigious award.
One Arizona teacher was named 2008 Presidential Awardee, Dana Islas in mathematics. As part of the recognition process, Dana will participate in a week-long series of networking and professional development activities in Washington, DC during January 4-8, 2010. In addition, Dana received $10,000 from the National Science Foundation. Congratulations to Dana!
