SAIS Information Series

The information provided in the series of articles available for download from this site is specific to the Arizona Department of Education's Student Accountability Information System (SAIS). Local Education Agencies (LEAs) most often submit data to SAIS via a mediating software system used to store and manage student information. While, locally developed or commercially available Student Management Systems (SMS) should be correctly setup to generate submission files according to SAIS requirements, we are aware that some local system developers and vendors use different terminology to explain the processes of data entry, file submission, and error analysis and correction. To be successful in the data submission and analysis process, personnel from LEAs must understand any differences between SMS processes and procedures and those described in the information provided here. If there are differences in the use of terminology or described processes and procedures that lead to confusion, please clarify these through contact with the ADE System Training and Response (STaR) Team and your SMS vendor or local developer.
